Under the Christmas Tree @ The Curve Mutiara Damansara

One of the shopping malls which in previous year always come with special Christmas themes but this year the deco is simple and the mall not heavily decorated. The Curve at Mutiara Damansara comes with “Under the Christmas Tree” theme for 2010.

The concourse area stood still a small house decorated with few cartoon characters. It was simple and there were more small shops opening besides it selling Christmas goodies.
As the decoration was not too fancy, so i just snapped few photo. The only thing I love to go the mall is the 3 pieces band playing on the high street.

The band which perform everyday at High Street The Curve

The band did perform previously 2 years back where there were four of them but this year it only 3 of them. When we ask the band leader, it was sad to hear that the one of the member when to somewhere which we can’t follow as our time yet to be called by Him. It was a shocked news and once they told us, we were also saddened by the news. The band although down with 1 member, they still perform well. So if you were around the curve, do watch them perform at High Street.

Let’s continue with the journey with me around Klang Valley for Christmas Deco hunt 2010. As on my previous post  I posted about LEGO Christmas tree at Bangsar Village II, now I would like to share another new shopping mall located at Subang Jaya called Empire Shopping Gallery. It’s a new shopping mall and the only shopping mall which host for the tallest indoor spiral tube slide. Maybe you can read more details on the shopping mall websites.

Another view of the concourse area

Since the mall are still new, this year for the first time their created a theme for Christmas entitled “A Raily Magical Christmas”. The word raily maybe refers to the trains and the tracks which their included on their themes. They are using tonnes of cotton to create the snow effect.

The train rides is going through a tunnel

Train rides for RM2 per person

As i was strolling down the area, there is a booth selling train ticket rides for RM2 per person and the money later will goes to charity. The decoration was quite nice for new established shopping mall. If you are around in Subang Jaya, don’t miss to drop by at Empire Shopping Gallery to view the Christmas deco or take a ride on the indoor tallest spiral slide.

LEGO Christmas Tree @ Bangsar Village II

Christmas is just around the corner and I’m on my festive moods since the beginning of the week of November. In Malaysia, the shopping malls take the opportunity to attract more patrons by decorating their malls with magnificent lightings and chritmas decoration with themes.
For the past few weeks, I did took some photo using my mobile but the picture was quite blurry and during that time, most shopping malls is still in decorating process and yet to complete. So, keep on reading to my post as I will post regularly on Christmas Deco around Klang Valley.

LEGO Christmas tree

Today, we start with a unique Christmas tree. After having my dinner with my wife and friends for banana leaf rice at Nirwana, we went to Bangsar Shopping Complex Bangsar Village II at Jalan Telawi to witness the tallest Christmas trees decorated and build out of Lego. It contains 850 thousand cubic of LEGO and stands at 7 metre high. It is the tallest LEGO Christmas tree in Asia.

LEGO Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree is decorated with LEGO candy cane sticks and tinsels.  Some onlooker was not that convince the Christmas tree was made out of LEGO until they seeing it close up.

It truly a LEGO Christmas tree

Beside from displaying the Christmas tree, Toy’R’Us also take the opportunity to sells LEGO stuff and display some LEGO models according to edition such as Stars Wars, Prince of Persia, Pirates Island and etc to name a few.

P/S: Change the name of the mall name. Paiseh... paiseh

Kampar Curry Chicken Bun @ Kota Damansara

Every states or places in our beloved country Malaysia have their own specialty of foods example if we go Kuching (Sarawak) is famous for Kolok Mee, Sarawak Laksa, Sibu (Sarawak) is famous for Kampua Mee, Kompia and Penang is Char Kway Teow and Asam Laksa to name a few.
There is local delicacies origin from Kampar and can be said quite famous which is Kampar Curry Bread Bun. It is available at Yau Kee Restaurant Kota Damansara. The shop owner open up a branch at Kota Damansara as a plan of expansion of the company and try they luck in Kuala Lumpur. I don't managed to capture the shop but there is another blogger blog about the shop and managed to capture it. You may click on the following link here.

The shop front look taken from ewinee.com

Me and my missus stumble with the shop as we were searching other shop at that place. The shop is still new I guess and they also cooked dishes and few tables are available for seating. As me and my wife was rushing, we just tapau (take away) the curry bun. It cost RM18 for the medium size bun.

Nice big packaging of the bun

The Chicken Curry Bun

When we reached home, I immediately grabbed hold my camera and snap some photo of the bun. It  was nicely packed in a box when I opened up the box, it was huge bun. There were some instruction for us to follow on how to unveiled the chicken curry wrapped inside the bun. Just by following the steps shown, i managed to unveiled the hidden chicken curry which is wrapped inside a paper.
The packaging come with instructions.

The taste of the curry was nice and all you need to do is to dip the bun to the curry and enjoyed the meal. I wonder how the RM30 bun will look like. For those who are interested to taste this Kampar Chicken Curry Bun, you may come to the shop and tapau one to bring back home. I’m not sure either this version are the best in Klang Valley as this the 2nd shop i stumble here. The one at Asia Cafe had closed for few months already.

By following the instruction, you will managed to find the curry wrapped in a paper inside of the bun

P/s: I received some comments and suggestion from fellow friends to put my Monkey Head Logo with my blog URL on the shop or stall I’d visited. A good suggestion but I’m not that into food critics. I just loved to share information.

ChicKing Fried Chicken @ Tropicana Mall

There is a new fast food outlet which is similar to Kentucky Fried Chicken located at Tropicana Shopping mall; it’s called ChicKing Fried Chicken. As it was still new, so there were a lot of patron who want to have a test on the food they are serving. From googling the internet, found out ChicKing Fried Chicken is a fast food chain restaurant from the UAE which offering Halal food. The outlet in Tropicana Mall is the first outlet open in Malaysia soil. The second outlet will be located at Shah Alam.

The counter, only 1 was operating when i took this pic.

The Menu
The foods are almost similar to KFC but the taste obviously is totally different from KFC. I order my the spicy chicken and it turn out to be over cooked and it was small. You can’t specific order which parts of chicken you want for your meal whereby we can do it at any outlet like McD, KFC, Popeye and A&W. Sighs.....

The Spicy ChicKing Fried Chicken

Spicy Chick Pop

ChicKing Coleslaw - the vege was cut too fine and seem you eat a porridge

The mashed potato which is the only nice items from the menu i ordered

The mashed potato, ermmm.... ok ok lah but prefer Popeye’s the most.
The price, ermmm... reasonable but not worth it. What you see in the picture is totally different from what you been served. Muahahahahaha
Beside from the food and the pricing, I’m also quite disappointed with the service as there are only open 2 counters and the service quite slow. Maybe i can forgive about that due there just start to do the business. Saw few patrons were waiting so long for the food and i saw few fussy customers as well.
If I were given a choice of McD or ChicKing (Beside than KFC), I prefer McD better although there are not from a background of serving fried chicken. This is my opinion and I hope those read my post won’t get offensive with it. It may take time for me to visit this place until they is someone go there and give good comments about the food they served.

The guest who came for this event was mostly Mitsubishi vehicle owners in Klang Valley and all by invitation only. As my friend did filled up the forms and submit to Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia for process, he manage to get a spot to attend this event. Once you get the invitation, he or she may invite a guest to come and help to introduce Mitsubishi vehicles and it capabilities. Mitsubishi car is one of highly recommended car for motorsport enthusiast especially the Lancer. If you like Gran Turismo and you watch Jackie Chan old movie title called “Thunderbolt”, you know why people love Mitsubishi cars.

The events starts at 9:00 a.m and was divided to two groups. Groups A is for morning session and group B is at the afternoon session. There were a lot of activities was held such as test drive the new cars, safety driving course, foosball, pool, arcade and the best thing is the “Taxi Ride on Lancer Evo X” with 2 times Dakar Rally Champion driver, Mr  Hiroshi Masuoka.

To get the taxi ride experience, there will be a lucky draw and only Mitsubishi owner can join the competition. Sighs... i’m just a guest and not entitled to be in a car with a respectful rally driver.
Didn’t join the safety course as well as it only open for Mitsubishi owners only and guest are not allowed to participate. Sighs...
You must be wondering how come they know you are a guest and an owner, it is from the wristband sticker they gave you during the registration. The wristband with white color is for guest and red color for Mitsubishi vehicles owner.

Wristband for guest.

Although I’m just a guest, but i was allowed to stroll the exhibition rooms and participate with the games. Also free flow of food and drinks. Hihihihihi I was looking for RalliArt umbrella but not for sale at the RalliArt corner shop. My wife love big GT umbrella which i had in my car from Bridgestone.

Seeing the Taxi Ride Experience really envy me and the same time hearing the way Mr. Hiroshi drive the car really impress me a lot. Me and my friend were hoping we get the lucky draw but we were not been selected. Although i didn’t managed to get a ride with him, we managed to take photo with him together with Evo X. Hihihihi....

Picture with Mr. Hiroshi and Evo X

Me and my friend managed to test drive the Lancer Sportback 2.4 as we stumble with my friend service advisor from Mitsubishi . There were few people testing the car as mostly are testing the other modes which is the ASX. I was amazed with the Lancer as this is my first time i drove a original Mitsubishi  lancer not the wannabe waja lancer, wira lancer and satria lancer. The response and the auto transmission and the shift gear on the handle really nice.
We returned home shortly after the test drive as my friend family from Malacca arrive in KL so he need to pick them up. It was a nice events and hopefully I can drive my own Lancer GT.
