Bora Ombak Restaurant and Coffee Bar

Last week Thursday, it was the last day of my wife  working with one of the well accredited 5 star hotel in KL as she was offer with a good offer in other hotel which is nearby to my working place. Her colleague decided to hold a farewell dinner in a fine dining restaurant located at Ampang. The restaurant that we went was Bora Ombak. It located at Sport Planet Ampang which is a well known futsal indoor stadium in KL.

Before we went there, my wife decide to give a door give to her attendee to her dinner on previous day. I will talk about it more on my next blog.

Teuscher chocolate as the door gift.

So back to Bora Ombak, the restaurant theme is like Balinese style which they have indoor and outdoor. The environment was quite cosy and a good place to enjoy with friends and family.
There were life band playing indoors and outdoors they were playing instrumental Balinese songs. It quite peaceful. It quite suprise that with Balinese themes, they do serve western foods and thai food.
We were having fun and chit chat among ourselves.

The special tea.

The cucur udang

Nasi Goreng Bonda

Nasi Lemak Nyonya

The place were empty at the beginning but later getting more and more patron. What a suprise, it was poco poco nite and there were people dancing on the dance floor provided at the indoor. Some people just dance to music. It seems like the poco poco just finally hit west Malaysia whereby the poco poco madness was way way back in Sarawak. I think 5 years back, this poco poco dance was a hit at my home town amongs those kampong people. Each kenduri, for sure got poco poco songs.

The live band performing indoors.

The set back of this place is the service is slow and most of the waiter are not Malaysians. All are foreigners and to talk to them was quite hard. But the best thing, there will be near your table when you request for drinks or food.

chit chatting with fellow colleague after dinner.

All in all, me and my wife would like to thank her ex colleagues for a wonderful farewell dinner treats to both of us.
