LED Wonderland @iCity Shah Alam

It had been a while i didn’t posted my blog as i was busy with my own works although now i’m working from home, i’m still busy as i had been before. Back to the topic i would like to share with you all is about a new city of lights located in our own country, Malaysia. Have you ever heard of i-City? For those who are living in Klang Valley also not sure where the location are. The i-City is located at Shah Alam and not thar far from UiTM Shah Alam campus. It’s the latest MSC Malaysia Cybercentre Zone beside Cyberjaya.

I read few other bloggers and also kaki photo Malaysia forum about the place which give a very good feedback.  So, last weekend me and wife went to the place and took the Federal Highway from KL. Using my NaviMobile GPS installed in my phone plus the signboards display along Federal Highway, we manage to reach there. On the first day, i met my old friend from Sibu with his wife. He also new with DSLR but his one is much more advance than mine which is Canon 450D. So we both go our separate ways and snaps few photos when suddenly it rains heavily. Me and my wife decide to go home but David and his wife decide to stay and having dinner nearby so that they hopefully the rain will stop and he could snap the photo at night.

It was kinda disappointment  for me as i didn’t snap the photo of iCity at night. So i plan to go there again the next day. After fetching my wife from work and have our dinner, we shoot out for our second attempt to capture the scenic night view of i-City. We manage to go there during sunset and the view was breath taking. 

The weather is with us and it quite windy and you can see many people is appreciating the beauty of the landscape. There were a lot of people carrying DSLR as it was so called heaven for photographer.

I snap few photo during sunset and at night. The night view is really nice as most of the trees are lighted up at night. It was a beautiful scene to see and can’t be miss. I’m not sure when the LED trees will be display but if you are yet visited this place, do come and capture the memories.

The Forbidden Nasi Lemak @ Jalan San Peng KL

San Peng Non Halal Nasi Lemak

Nasi lemak is typical Malaysian favourite dish. We can have it any time of the day. Usually, we always see only Malays and mamak selling nasi lemak. Have you tried a non halal nasi lemak where fried butter luncheon meat and Chinese sausage  been served as side dishes.
In this week, i had been reading few blogs regarding the famous non halal nasi lemak of San Peng Road KL. Some do give good comments but some don’t. I had tried to locate the shop on the 1st attempt yesterday after pick up my wife from work but fail and we end up tapau food from Mc’D at Jalan Pahang drive thru.
After reading few blogs regarding the famous San Pen Non Halal Nasi Lemak, there is one blog which give the exact location of the shop with google maps been tag. With it, i manage to locate the shop finally. As what some of the blogs did mention that the place quite pack with patrons at night and it was true indeed. It not just a normal car park by the road side but most of those luxury big cars such as Alphard, BMW, Mercedes, Camry and etc . You won’t miss this nasi lemak shop at Jalan San Peng where it’s the only shop by the road side full with patrons and with long queuing at the nasi lemak cart.

Me and my wife tapau and select few of the side dishes to come along with the nasi lemak. There are varieties of side dishes to choose from.  As been warned in most of the blogs I read, the price really outrages. 1 portion of side dishes is RM1 except for the chicken curry which is based on the part you choose either wing, thigh, drumstick or breast. If you want to have all the side dishes, you might end up more than RM10 or might reach RM20. Guess how much do i pay for our nasi lemak freaking price. It was RM15.10 for 2 nasi lemak and the aunty give discount 10 cents so it was only RM15. That is the most expensive nasi lemak i had compared to the price nasi lemak of Wisma Genting and the nasi lemak by the road side selling near to my old office which is way more cheaper.

The price of the Nasi Lemak RM8.60 + RM6.50 = RM15.10 discount 10 cent by the aunty so RM15.

When we reach home, i’m quickly snap of the photo of both nasi lemak which we bought. My wife nasi lemak consists of 1 curry chicken wing, 2 slices of curry potato, 1 spoon of dice long bean, 1 fried egg, 1 fried butter luncheon meat, 1 teaspoon of fried anchovies, 1 tablespoon of sambal, 1 teaspoon of fried kacang, 2 slice of cucumber and 1 small bowl of nasi lemak cost around freaking RM6.50.

But my nasi lemak consists of 1 curry chicken thigh, 1 spoon of dice long bean, 1 small piece of chicken gizzard, 1 fried egg, 1 fried butter luncheon meat, 1 teaspoon of fried anchovies, 1 tablespoon of sambal, 1 teaspoon of fried kacang, 2 slice of cucumber and 1 small bowl of nasi lemak cost around freaking RM8.60.

Like been mention by other blogs, it ain’t cheap but yet still a lot of patrons craving for non halal food. The taste of the sambal is moderate spicy. Not too spicy and not that less spicy. Just in the middle of spicy. The luncheon meat is fried with butter and it taste quite nice. The chicken curry less coconut milk and just nice for those who like moderate curry taste. For the rice, they are using fragrant rice and you can smell pandan leafs aroma on it.
If you willing to try out something different, try the famous non halal nasi lemak at Jalan San Peng. It located behind the shop lot just next to Shell station. You may refer to the map i’m attached with my blogs.

P/S: This is the first time i didn’t bring my SLR out for food hunting. Some of the photo of the shop taken from other blogs for reference. But the food i snap at home is the actual nasi lemak from Jalan San Peng.

Mini Cupcakes @ Jalan Kerja Ayer Lama Ampang

Fill me up buttercup is the only songs reminds me of a cupcakes. It was few months ago that i went to check it out some eateries in Ampang. We were in a malay stalls in ampang near to ISKL, a man carrying a full basket of mini cupcakes approach us selling his mini cupcakes. On the first time he came to us, we were busy eating and we are not interested with it.  He walked away and approach other patrons in few shops. After walloping all the food that we ordered, suddenly my wife suggest that we should give a try on the mini cupcakes that the man trying to sells. As he was approaching his potential customer table by table, he was yet to be seen in the vicinity of the shop which we had our dinner. So we decided to wait and ordered our drinks while we waiting for him to come back.

30 minutes later on, he been spotted and i raise my hand to called him. So he came to our table with his few nicely package mini cupcakes. He was a humble person and according to him he is helping his wife selling those mini cupcakes. He a very soft spoken person and can talked in English very well.

So there were a lot of cupcakes designs and been randomly packed in transparent packaging with the cupcakes labels. It was interesting that starting from a hobby can become a 2^nd choice to generate income. As for me, i was amaze with this man although he was working as white collars from 9am till 5pm, he helped his wife at night to promote his wife products. Sometimes, life is not that so easy for low and moderate income earners in the city as much as our city grows, the more the living costs are.

Back to the mini cupcakes, my wife took 2 packs of mini cupcakes with different design each. Not sure what type of cupcakes but when he explain to use, one is using butter and the other I’m not sure what was it either planta or margarine.  I’m not into baking cakes so sorry on the terms i used. Hahahaha...
