Jonker Street is having a lot of old building decorated with nice painting in details.
Tourists and locals will definitely not want to miss having a walk along Jonker Street, formerly known as Jalan Hang Jebat, which is famous for its distinct Chinese’s culture that forms the true essence of Jonker Street. It’s a definite haven for antique collectors and bargain hunters.
It look like pasar malam but you can see a lot of stuff.
A lot of clan house can be seen at Jonker Street.
A veteran singing an old Hokkien song. She was waving at me after i took the pic asking me to enter the premises.
The 3D details on the building.
Jonker Street bustling with tourist looking for items to bargain.
Variety of Dim Sum on sales.
Mini pau with variety color and fillings.
Authentic artifacts and relics which some dating as far back as 300 years, can be found among a host of interesting collectibles, each with its own history and mystery. Apart from its night market liked street, one can definitely savour many authentic local foods at Jonker Street as well.
The largest baked tarts in Malaysia. See the date, u still dare to eat? hahahaha
Freshly baked tarts from the oven.
Melaka is also famous with its baked tarts. I manage to capture the largest baked tarts which manage to enter Malaysia Book of Records. Just imagine you eat this big tart alone or serve it during festive season. My wife and my mum manage to buy few fresh baked tarts from the shop. At jonker street, you can find a lot of local food and u can know more details on Melaka people culture.
Jonker main stage which always fill with activity.
There is a stage been built which is the main entrance for Jonker Street. Every now and then, there will be performances, dances or events held at the stage. You can see performance by the old timer which i guess the age between 60’s – 80’s.
Pork satay which is a hit at that kopitiam.
We all stop at a kopitiam near to the stage after a 3 hours walk up and down Jonker Street. We tend for a drink but end up eating satay. Not an ordinary satay but pork satay as i saw few people order satay from a stall outside the kopitiam. Hahahahahaa...
Enjoying himself with the music. Pure street dance.
Do the move. Turn and turn with your hip shaking to the music.
When we about to returned to the car, we saw an elderly guy enjoying himself dancing along with the music. I guess he is aware that i’m snapping his pic and he become more agile. That was my day at Jonker street with my wife and my mum.
