Last week, me and my wife went for a day trip to Sitiawan ask my colleague invited us to have a little of foochow food in Sitiawan. Usually, in da office we always argue which foochow food is taste nicer.
The journey took around 2 and half hour from kl. It depends on the traffic near the old palm plantation.
The first food that my friend brought me was kampua mee and loh mee. The stall located not far from ACS school.
The Sitiawan kampua mee
The kampua mee is totally different taste from what we usually have in sibu. It only have one type as shown above.
The Loh Mee with Assam Laksa gravy comes along with it.
The loh mee also different where it been cooked with bamboo shoots. If you can't stand with the bitterness of the bamboo shoots, try and mix it with the assam laksa gravy.
The coconut jelly which originated from Manjung but Penang get the name.
Once we had our brunch at the stall, we are off to have the original coconut jelly. It a refreshing desert which ones need to taste to enjoy. It a desert which had been mix with seaweed.
After we had our coconut jelly, we went to have chendol where the sultan of perak ever ate. It located near a hindu temple. It just a simple desert where a lot of people throngs to the place to have a refreshing desert during a hot sunny day. There were 2 types of chendol which one come with sticky rice and one if the ordinary plain cendol. The best thing is the owner will dress up with a bow tie. Yes indeed a red striking bow tie and that his signatures. He claims that even KFC also use bow tie.
The famous pulut cendol of Sitiawan.
Sultan Perak with the owner.
